Sony's Kevin Butler Tweets PS3 Root Key
If you're a PlayStation fan, or even just a gaming nerd, you've probably heard about the recent leak of the PS3 security key, used to sign and authenticate legitimate game discs. What this allows is playback of downloaded and burned game without modifications to the PS3 hardware.
Well, as you can imagine, Sony has been coming down hard on anybody and everybody who is reposting and sharing this root key online, especially geohot, the original publisher of the key.
Who Sony didn't go after, however, is one of their marketing tools, Kevin Butler. Kevin Butler (a persona created for Sony's It Only Does Everything PlayStation marketing campaign) was dubiously tricked earlier this week into tweeting this key out on his public timeline.
Twitter user provoked this tweet with this status update.
